20 Essex Street Arbitrators contribute to ICCA-Queen Mary third-party funding report

A joint task force of ICCA and the School of International Arbitration at Queen Mary University of London unveiled the final draft of its long-awaited report on third-party funding on the second day of the 2018 ICCA Congress in Sydney. The 259-page report was unveiled during a packed breakfast seminar.

The 50-strong task force was led by three-co chairs, Catherine Rogers of Penn State Law and Queen Mary, Stavros Brekoulakis of Queen Mary and William W Park of Boston University.

Brekoulakis said the report aims to provide “much needed guidance on new legal and policy issues concerning third-party funding and to inform the work of arbitral tribunals, counsel, arbitration institutions and ultimately the parties who seek arbitration funding.”

20 Essex Street specialist arbitrators The Honorable Charles N BrowerJulian Lew QC and Sir Bernard Rix were expert contributors to the report.
