Philip Edey QC has had a stellar year acting for the LIA in its dispute with Goldman Sachs in what was one of the largest value cases set down for trial in the Commercial Court in 2016. His practice covers a broad range of sectors including banking, civil fraud, shipping and commodities, insurance and energy.
Timothy Young QC is particularly active as counsel in arbitrations, as well as representing clients in the High Court and the Court of Appeal. His recent work includes representing the respondent/ cross-appellant in the Court of Appeal in NYK Bulkship (Atlantic) N.V. v. Cargill International S.A. (Global Santosh)  EWCA Civ 403. The case centred on the meaning of "charterer' agents" in a common additional off hire provision where the NYPE form is used.
