Today Twenty Essex welcomes Andrew Ayres QC to Chambers. Andrew brings an established and successful commercial disputes practice with a strong core of trial advocacy in courts across the globe.
He has well-established multi-jurisdictional connections, particularly in Asia Pacific and with the offshore community.
Andrew’s expertise will also complement the set’s leading status in international arbitration. He takes appointments as arbitrator and regularly appears before international and domestic panels.
In a joint message, Duncan Matthews QC and Stephen Atherton QC, co-Heads of Twenty Essex, commented:
“Andrew is a renowned silk with an impressive international practice and we are delighted that he has chosen to join us. His expertise matches that of Twenty Essex across the spectrum of international and domestic commercial litigation and his arrival is the latest example of Chambers’ drive to meet clients’ needs as we continue to welcome new outstanding practitioners at all levels of seniority with demand for our areas of expertise continuing to grow.”
“I am very pleased to join Twenty Essex. I look forward to playing my part in Chambers’ complex commercial disputes work, whether in litigation or arbitration, as well as in banking, civil fraud, offshore, company and insolvency disputes. Twenty Essex’s long-standing international outlook and connections makes it superbly placed to provide an excellent service to those involved in transnational disputes of all types. As part of this, I will be strengthening ties with international colleagues, including in the Caribbean, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, mainland China, Korea and Australasia.”
Twenty Essex continues to strengthen and expand across all areas of practice. Andrew is the seventh new practitioner to join Chambers within the past year.
