Sudhanshu Swaroop and Julian Kenny to be appointed Queen's Counsel

The 2016 Queen’s Counsel appointments have been announced today, with two members of 20 Essex Street among the new appointments. Congratulations to Sudhanshu Swaroop and to Julian Kenny, who will be sworn in at a ceremony on 22 February 2016.
Sudhanshu became a tenant in 1998 and has a broad international practice. He is recommended by The Legal 500 for his work in Banking and Finance, Human Rights, International Arbitration, Public International Law and Shipping. The Lawyer magazine has previously chosen him as one of its "Hot 100". He is quoted in The Legal 500 as: ‘a versatile barrister with a strong grounding in international arbitration’ and is ‘recommended for his highly versatile practice in public international law.’
Julian Kenny has also been in practice at 20 Essex Street since 1998. He specialises in commercial law and is recommended by Chambers & Partners and Legal 500 for Commodities, International Arbitration, Insurance and Shipping. He was the Chambers & Partners International Arbitration Junior of the Year 2009. In this year’s Chambers & Partners Guide, Julian is listed as: ‘very good and calm. He approaches cases well’ and prophetically: ‘I am amazed he hasn't taken silk already – he is the main player amongst the shipping juniors.’
