‘The Right to a Fair Trial in International Law’ by Professor Amal Clooney and Professor Philippa Webb

The Right to a Fair Trial in International Law ’ authored by  Professor Amal Clooney and Professor Philippa Webb launches on Wednesday 16 December 2020.

The book provides a comprehensive overview of international jurisprudence on one of the most litigated rights in the world: the right to a fair trial. It distils international standards – drawing on international and regional treaties, the case law of international courts and tribunals, and decisions of international human rights bodies – and considers their applicability to practical scenarios that arise in criminal trials. According to Sir Howard Morrison QC, a British Judge at the International Criminal Court who wrote the Foreword, the book is ‘a reference for every prosecutor or judge who wants to be fair; and for every defence counsel who wants to give their client the best chance of a just outcome in court’. Attendees will hear from the book’s co-authors alongside a range of legal experts and have an opportunity for participants to ask the speakers questions relating to the book.

The book is available to pre-order here.
