Timothy Hill QC Moves To 20 Essex Street

The members of 20 Essex Street Chambers welcome the arrival of Timothy Hill QC. Tim was previously at Stone Chambers, and specialises in international commercial litigation and arbitration, the latter carried out under the rules of all the major arbitral institutions.
Tim’s disputes tend to be of very high value, complex or of an urgent nature involving swift interim relief. He works across all sectors, but with a particular specialty in the commodities, energy, shipping and insurance (marine and non-marine) sectors.
Other commercial litigation which Tim regularly undertakes includes: joint ventures and shareholders’ agreements, distribution agreements, commercial agencies, banking and finance, with particular expertise of the ISDA Master Agreement, enforcement of guarantees, arbitration (practice & procedure), civil fraud and sanctions.
Tim also sits as a commercial arbitrator (whether pursuant to bespoke terms or under the auspices of institutions such as the LCIA) and acts as a mediator. He regularly gives evidence of English law in foreign proceedings and arbitrations. Tim is recommended in Chambers & Partners and Legal 500 as a leading silk for both commodities and shipping, and in Legal Experts for commercial litigation. Tim was shortlisted for ‘Shipping Silk of the Year 2014’ at the Chambers & Partners Bar Awards.
