Timothy Young QC and Simon Milnes featured in Lloyd's List's 'Top 10 lawyers' 2015

Congratulations to Timothy Young QC and Simon Milnes, who have been featured in Lloyd’s List’s ‘Top 10 lawyers for 2015.’

Lloyd’s List states: “An increasing international focus sees barristers joining this list in 2015. Tim Young QC continues a stellar shipping practice at 20 Essex Street, with his work in arbitrations highly admired, if often cloaked in confidentiality. He has led Simon Milnes on a number of key cases, with Mr Milnes practising out of an office in Maxwell Chambers, Singapore”

Timothy Young QC has a broad practice encompassing shipping, finance, insurance, commodities and even defence procurement. He has notably acted for Rosneft in the Court of Appeal   in  (1) PST Energy 7 Shipping LLC; (2) Product Shipping & Trading S.A. v. (1) O.W. Bunker Malta Ltd; (2) ING Bank N.V. [2015] EWCA Civ 1058. He has also acted in NYK Bulkship (Atlantic) NV v Cargill International SA ("The Global Santosh") which was heard in the Supreme Court in December 2015.

Simon’s practice focuses on energy and offshore construction as well as a thriving caseload  in international trade and natural resources cases including shipping, corporate / post-M&A and joint venture issues. Simon has also provided pre-litigation advice and contract drafting and termination advice to a number of shipyards and offshore engineering and rig manufacturers based in Europe, Singapore, South Korea and the PRC. Highlights include Isabella Shipowner SA v Shagang Shipping Co Ltd, and a number of substantial shipping arbitrations over the past year.
