Sir Peter Gross is one of three new Judicial Commissioners appointed by the Prime Minister. Sir Peter will join Sir Duncan Ouseley and Sir Michael Supperstone to form a team of Judicial Commissioners who work alongside the Investigatory Powers Commissioner, Sir Brian Leveson.
Judicial Commissioners are serving or retired members of the senior judiciary in the UK and provide independent authorisation of applications for the use of certain intrusive investigatory powers. Such powers are used by a wide range of public authorities
